Newsletter Terms - What does signing up involve?

Signing up for my newsletter means that you are simply agreeing to receive occasional emails from me which may include news of what I’ve been doing, my new writing projects, appearances and signings. The newsletter may also include details of my current and forthcoming titles and news of any special offers for my work.

I’m primarily asking you for simple contact details – name, email etc. That is so I can get in touch with you. This information is all securely held and processed through a contact manager called Mailchimp. It is not, nor will it ever be, shared with any other company, group or individual. Mailchimp is a reputable email marketing software company that enables me to manage my email newsletter. Your record on Mailchimp tells me when you subscribed, when you were emailed, if you looked at the email, if you opened any links in the email. This is not meant to be intrusive, just to help me put together better, more engaging emails in the future.

If at any time you are curious to see what data I’m holding on you, then you are welcome to ask me to supply that (simply use my contact form) and I’ll send you that information. If at any time you decide it’s not for you, you can simply click on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of your newsletter, or you can contact me through the contact form on this site asking to be removed from the mailing list. In either case all your details will be removed entirely from the database, not mothballed, put into storage or shuffled slightly over to the left, just removed. I hope you enjoy the newsletters and always look forward to feedback from my readers!

Leigh Russell’s Newsletter – September 2018

After the excitement of the publication of Death Rope, the eleventh title in the Geraldine Steel series, I’ve been busy writing. Death Rope is available here.

Throughout August I was busy working on edits and checking proofs for Geraldine Steel number 12 which follows Death Rope next year, and submitting the first draft for number 13 which will also be published in 2019. So there is plenty of writing and editing in store for me and more Geraldine Steel books to look forward to in 2019 and beyond.

It was a great pleasure to accept an invitation to appear as the after lunch speaker for the Hertfordshire’s Women’s Institute.

Michael and I were given a warm welcome and enjoyed a fabulous lunch after which I gave a short talk to ninety ladies, telling them about my journey to publication and subsequent career as a writer.

I was very grateful to them for asking so many interesting questions, and buying so many of my books.

In other news, we were very excited to see the opening of a new independent bookshop in Pinner and I’m looking forward to making an official appearance there on 29th November.

If you’re local to the area, I hope you’ll drop in and say hi! Here I am with the owner and well known local resident.

Sarah assures me it’s a complete coincidence that some of my books are on display under the ‘Wine’ sign…

In the meantime, I’ll be out about making a few appearances next month, so here are the October dates for your diaries. I’ll post the November dates next month, and hope to meet many of you on my trips away from my writing desk before the end of the year.

And now, it’s time to get back to planning the fourteenth story in the Geraldine Steel series…
